Sant Maurici lake and Els Encantats
The most famous image of the Catalan Pyrenees: the lake beneath the twin peaks of Els Encantats. Access is from Espot, with a 4x4 taxi option to the lake that makes the outing suitable for all ages. From there, the Ratera waterfall and lake are the perfect continuation.
Easy family walks
The park is ideal for introducing children to the mountains: well-marked paths, water everywhere and fairy-tale scenery. Walks around Sant Maurici, the Aigüestortes plateau or Ratera lake, adapted to the pace of the youngest.
High mountains for those who want more
Els Encantats, Peguera, passes and lakes towards the Colomèrs or Saboredo cirques, and the Carros de Foc stages: the park concentrates some of the finest high-mountain days in the Pyrenees, always with the safety of a local guide.
When to visit
Open all year round. Summer brings lakes and summits; autumn, spectacular forest colours; winter, snowshoe outings across snowy scenery; spring, meltwater filling waterfalls and rivers. Every season is a different park.

FAQ
How do you get to Estany de Sant Maurici?
From Espot, on foot (about 8 km) or with the village 4x4 taxis, which drop you a few minutes from the lake. Private vehicles are not allowed into the park.
Is it suitable for children?
Yes — it is one of the best destinations in the Pyrenees for kids: short, flat routes around the lakes, and the 4x4 taxi shortens the approaches.
Is there an entrance fee?
Access on foot is free. The 4x4 taxi from Espot is paid separately. On our guided trips, all logistics are taken care of.
Which route do you recommend for a first visit?
