Things to do in the Pyrenees in winter

Winter is one of the most beautiful times to discover the Pallars: snow, silence and landscapes you will never see in summer. And you do not need to ski to enjoy it. With a mountain guide you can walk through the snow on snowshoes, plan a family outing or share a different kind of day with friends.

Snow without skiing

Snowshoeing is the most accessible winter activity: if you can walk, you can snowshoe. It is perfect if you do not ski, want a quieter day, or want to combine it with skiing during a stay in the Pyrenees.

With family, friends or a group

Some outings are designed for families and others more for adults. We always check everyone's level so the group is balanced and everyone feels comfortable, even if it is your first time on snow.

Nights in mountain refuges

This winter there will be special outings with a night in a mountain refuge: a unique way to experience the snowy mountains and meet people who are just as keen. Keep an eye on this page and the agenda.

No gear of your own needed

You do not need your own snowshoes to join: if you have none, we help you get some. Before each outing we tell you what to bring and answer all your questions.

Winter safety

In winter the days are short and conditions change quickly. Before heading out on your own, check the ICGC avalanche bulletin and the Meteocat mountain forecast. With a mountain guide, the itinerary is chosen according to those conditions.

Long weekends and Christmas holidays

The December long weekends and the Christmas holidays are ideal times to escape to the Pyrenees. Outings scheduled for those dates appear on this page and in the agenda.

Scheduled winter outings

There are no winter outings published for this season yet. When we schedule them, they will appear here automatically. If you have a group or a specific date, write to us.
